Instructions for Presenters

Oral Presentations

ICDL will showcase a number of articles as oral presentations in a single-track format across five days (Monday to Friday). The presentation of each article should last 15-20 minutes, to allow 5-10 additional minutes for Q&A and speaker transition. The presentations should be pre-recorded, and only the Q&A will be live. The presentations will be uploaded to Youtube and made available to the community after the conference. If you prefer your presentation remains private, please let us know. In case you decide to make your presentation private, will upload it to Youtube but unlisted and only share among registered participants at the conference. Unlisted videos can only be viewed if you have the exact URL.

We encourage you to carry your presentation on a memory stick, for uploading to and testing on the PC available in a break in advance. If you prefer presenting from your laptop, make sure it has an HDMI or VGA output port or bring a converter. Further, please have the projector connection tested beforehand. Projectors at the conference venue use a 4:3 aspect ratio, so we suggest to format your presentations accordingly. Once at the conference, meet the Session Chairs a few minutes before the beginning of your session to check equipment compatibility. If something is not working correctly, please ask for help to one of the Conference Helpers.

Poster Presentations

Some contributed papers, as well as accepted extended abstracts, will be presented as posters at the conference. Due to the change of format taken as response to COVID-19, the poster presentation will be replaced by 10 minutes oral presentation plus 5 minutes live Q&A. The presentations should be pre-recorded and only the Q&A will be live.

The changes to the poster presentation also mean that poster teaser presentations are NOT longer needed.

They will be grouped into two sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Prepare a poster that is A0 (841 x 1189mm). On the day of your poster session, you will be able to hang your poster during the morning coffee break; you must use the poster spot which shows your paper ID; the poster session will be 90 minutes long. We will supply material to hang the posters.

Poster Teaser Presentations

In the session before each poster session, we encourage all presenters to tease their poster briefly. Each presenter will be given up to two minutes to briefly present highlights from their poster accompanied by up to three powerpoint slides. The slides need to be sent by email to us by Tuesday, 1st September 2020 . Slides are required to be in pdf and to use a 4:3 aspect ratio.
