We have been monitoring the situation evolving around COVID-19 closely. Unfortunately, the situation in Chile has not improved, and after considering multiple options, together with our partners, we have made the following changes:
We are sorry for the delays. However, all changes need to be discussed and approved by the IEEE, and we are still waiting for approval of some of the changes. As soon as we know about the length of the talks and dates we will contact all the authors, announce the changes in relevant mailing lists and on this webpage. Thank you for your understanding.

Last updated: Friday, 14th of August 2020.The main entry point to Chile is the International Airport of Santiago de Chile (SCL). There are many direct flights available from all main cities in Latin America and also from overseas. A detailed list of origin, price, and connection time are provided at the end of this proposal. Examples of direct flights to Chile are:
Valparaiso is 110 km from the International Airport of Santiago (SCL). The travel may be done by taxi, transfer shuttle, or bus. Direct buses from the airport to Valparaiso run twice a day at 9:50 and 14:30.

Airport SCL → Valparaíso (using the shuttle bus): 1:30 h
Alternatively, buses from the airport to the Pajaritos interconnection station are available each 10 min, from there buses to Valparaíso depart every 15 minutes, several companies provide this service. The transport time, by bus, for these two sections is as follows
Airport SCL → Pajaritos bus station: 15 min
Pajaritos bus station → Valparaíso: 1:15 h
To enter Chile, you have to present your identification documents, like your ID card or passport. Moreover, depending on your country of origin, a stamped VISA. The following map presents the VISA policies per country.
Citizens from South America can use their ID card, the European Union, the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Australia do not need tourist VISAs. Australian citizens can use their passport and have to pay US$117 during entrance at the airport as a reciprocity fee. Be aware that access is granted up to 90 days, and passport o credentials in use must not expire before or during your stay.
Also, remember that if you're bringing animal or vegetable products, upon entering you must declare them to the Agriculture and Livestock Service (Servicio Agricola y Ganadero – SAG); in this way, you’ll be contributing to protecting the varied flora and fauna of the country.

For those how need a VISA, please keep in mind that the VISA process takes about 20 working days, and applications that are not presented with at least that time in advance are rejected.
